The week of November 8th, we made gingerbread houses. We had the following requirements:
*No larger than 13" x 9"
*Must have a tiled roof
*Must be completely edible
*All components must be created by the student - no store bought or ready made items.
That meant no licorice, no gumdrops, no candycane bannisters, nothing. We had to make it all.
It was a lot of hard work, but in the end, we created a lot of really fabulous houses. These houses were built to be
a part of the holiday display in The Galleria building in downtown Portland, Oregon, downstairs from the school. There
was a four foot castle to accompany our little village, which the instructors made (with a little help from us, as time allowed),
and I have images of that whole village also.
