A Halloween themed Meatcake. Brilliant! In Kristine's words:
"My husband was so inspired by your Meat Cake that he
decided to make one for our recent Halloween party. It's two layers (baked
in cake pans) with a ketchup glaze in between. It's "frosted" with
mashed potatoes with piped decorations along the top and bottom edges.
(The red dots are more ketchup.) The designs on top are actually
paprika that we sprinkled over some Halloween cupcake stencils. Pretty
neat, huh? The best part is that it tasted DELICIOUS. We had
surprisingly
little left over the
next day!"
Halloween is my favorite holiday. I have a special place in my heart for this cake. Especially when she said, "For the record, I tried a test cake with real potatoes and it didn't turn out so well. For the final product, I reverted to the flakes and it went much better. Good call on the potatoes! " so, NYAH. Kristine adds:
"If you want to see more pictures from the
party, I've got them on my website here: http://www.web-goddess.org/photos/halloween06.php. Oh, and when you post this picture, you should
probably credit my husband since he's the one that did all the work on it.
:) His name's "Rodd Snook."
Thanks, Rodd!
